2012 The BurueaToday we finished our ROI analysis of our publication called The Bureau.  The Bureau was launched in September of 2012 and serves as a center point for information on direct marketing and the happenings within our 64-year old company.
Our maiden issue asked and answered the question; “What IS multi-channel marketing?'”  Other issues announced upgrades and expansion going on within our plant, introduced readers to our YouTube page, outlined FSM (Folded Self-Mailer_ regulation changes in a simple fashion, educated on Augmented Reality (AR) and shares some case studies from our marketing campaigns.  Two of our newsletters included rate-cards for easy reference of the new postal rates that took effect in January and all included an interactive element connecting us to our client and enabling us to track results.
We were able to directly connect an additional $20K in new business to our newsletter through the articles covering our existing or new services, inquiries pertaining to specific topics included in the publication or the acquisition of new clients by incorporating prospects into our Bureau marketing plan.
Direct mail is (still) mighty and is a powerhouse to drive business online.

Several of our clients have already been through our 30-minute class!  We have reviewed the new rates and regulations with several of our clients’ in-house graphic artists, procurement staff and marketing associates.
As you understand the changes better, you will also understand the effects those changes have on your postal rates.
We will discuss the new regulations surrounding FSM – Folded Self-Mailers, teach you how to estimate postage quickly for budgeting and review the latest happenings in Washington as it pertains to Postal Reform.

BOB 400 FOLLOWERSBEB-Business Extension Bureau  has entered into the social media realm as an enhancement to direct mail marketing. Our very own Bob Royall – President Emeritus and founder started using Twitter last fall and has already reached 400 followers!

@BEB_BOB tweets focus on the latest postal news such as folded self-mailer changes made easy and upcoming USPS incentives.  He also shares the latest in online technology such as Augmented Reality (AR) and NFC!

A Few Words From Bob – Jan 2013

A Few Words From Bob with blue background2013 will be a year of USPS promotional initiatives that will go beyond previous mobile bar-code promotions of the past.  In August,l the USPS will offer incentives for companies using near-field communications (NFC) which enables radio communication and data exchanges based on proximity via smart phones and similar devices.   Also in August, the USPS will offer motivation to use augmented reality (AR) which technology that amplifies images with interactive menus, videos and brings graphics to life!
The first USPS promotion starts on March 1 and will offer initiatives for mailings that integrate hard-copy coupons that can be redeemed via mobile technologies.

Ron Royall in PostScripts

2012-12 POSTSCRIPTS BEBFor the second time in 2012, BEB-Business Extension Bureau was featured in the national magazine known as PostScripts!  PostScripts is a monthly publication for the Association of Marketing Service Providers, (formerly known as the MFSA-Mailing and Fulfillment Services Association).
Our very own President, Ron Royall, is also President of the Southwest Chapter of this very prestigious industry association.  We were featured because we hosted the annual October luncheon, held this year in Houston, Texas.  This sold-out event is a preamble to the Southwest Conference held in April 2013, which we’re also hosting!

 

2013 Winter Summit

2013-SummitEach year the executive team of BEB-Business Extension Bureau gather in Houston, Texas to plan and strategize for the future.  We examine where the marketplace is going five-years out, review technology changes that impact our business and conduct a client review to determine how we can better serve our existing client and where to find new business.
Plans to add a digital press in the first quarter, expansion and upgrade of our 15,000 sq ft facility and enhancing direct mail with social media and online interaction were hot topics.  The year’s summit was very informative and we look forward to the coming year as we find better ways to serve our clients by planning for the future.

From the President – January 2013

Ron Bi-LineWhat an eventful year 2012 has been.  Felix Baumgartner jumped from the edge of space to earth faster than any human ever, breaking Mach 1.  Double amputee Oscar Pistorius qualified and competed in the 400 meter relay at the Summer Olympics.  From a global perspective, historic storms, conflict and devastation coupled with equally historic unification, expansion and caring occurred at a mind-boggling pace.
2012 was a whirlwind at BEB too.  BEBdata, our list compilation company that specializes in consumer bankruptcy data, continues to grow at lightening speed!  We overhauled the bebdata.com website, traveled to several shows and launched a new online suppression tool that will identify bankruptcy activity from your data uploaded to our server!

Our letter shop business received a complete face-lift too.  Direct mail is only a portion of what we offer today.  We have embraced and expanded into what we call multi-channel marketing.  Offset, digital and wide-format print has allowed us to increase service offerings to existing clients and foster new relationships,  This  year we have invested in creating a solid presence within web, social media and e-mail marketing and we focused on enhancing our 63 plus-year expertise with direct mail through programs like Postal Requirement Certification courses, increased activity with local and national industry associations and gaining expertise on multiple ways to measure return.
Our goal of better a better service provider is a journey without end and we welcome the exercise and planning required to achieve it!  In 2013 we will continue to upgrade and expand.  Ahead of schedule, we have started PHASE II of our facility updated which includes painting (internal), a new conference room, client lobby and class room!  We will conduct several more Postal classes (to clients and staff) and we have just begun the overhaul of the bebtexas.com website.
Our new website will be interactive and in a constant state of motion.  Postal regulation or rates, information on the latest technology, marketing strategies and postal happenings will be available on our online resource center or through our monthly newsletters, e-mail blasts and social media outlets.  We have had an incredibly positive response from you regarding our recent communications and we are thankful for your input and appreciation!  To show our thanks, we have created our first BEB Wall Calendar!  If you haven’t received one yet, you will soon and we hope you enjoy!  Call us if you need a couple more.  Of course, our favorite way to communicate is in person and we will be sure to retain the personal touch for which we’re known.
